A collection of short stories for Halloween reading, or if you're in the mood for a spooky story. A selection of great short stories from the Gothic, Horror, and Weird genres featuring classics like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Black Cat, The Monkey's Paw and other favorites. Reading Halloween themed stories is one of our favorite ways to preserve the Halloween spirit each year. We try to read 31 classic Halloween stories each year – 1 per day in October. It’s a simple way to ensure we spend some quality time as a family each day and in the Fall that’s no easy feat with school, after-school activities, work, etc. 3: Something Fell from Aloft (Alvin Schwartz) This is one of my favorite scary stories to read aloud.
